My day at Calamo

As the maintenance manager, Andreas Lundberg is a crucial resource at Calamo. Additionally, his role as a part-time firefighter is something we are very proud of.
To avoid unplanned shutdowns or accidents, Calamo meticulously works on preventive maintenance in all parts of the operation. In this effort, Andreas plays a vital role. He is also one of several part-time firefighters in the workforce.
What does a typical day look like at Calamo for you, Andreas?
“It starts with creating an overview to distribute tasks among our mechanics. I set priorities, plan projects, and check if there’s a need to purchase spare parts. Then, I’m always available to assist our mechanics.”
“The most common tasks we perform include welding of tube systems, valve replacements, troubleshooting pneumatic and electrical issues, liaising with suppliers, and preventive maintenance such as checking automatic fire alarms and inspecting air and fluid leaks.”
What’s the most enjoyable aspect of your job?
“The most enjoyable aspect is when you’ve worked to find solutions for a project – big or small – and then seeing it function in practice and being put to use.”
