Marcus Alperud works as a production manager at Calamo. His department, project and production engineering, works with cross-functional teams, and development is one of the things he enjoys the most.

What is your background, Marcus?

I have studied Metallurgy and Materials Technology at Bergsskolan/LTU. I have also worked in various positions as machine operator, engineer and in senior positions. Mainly in the steel and engineering industry.

This is what we do in my department!

Our project- and production technology department is involved in developing machines, processes and methods. We work with cross-functional teams to jointly develop our production processes and technology.

Which parts of your education have you found particularly useful in your role at Calamo?

My education has given me a good understanding of processes and the properties of the material, which is useful working with production development.

What does a typical day at Calamo look like for you?

I am involved in various tasks in my role as a production manager. At the moment, I’m working with investments and planning for our expansion in Molkom, Sweden.

What is the most enjoyable work task?

Working with development is something I am passionate about. No matter in which field it is.

What do you think is the best thing about Calamo?

The colleagues and the curiosity that exists within the company. We want to move forward and develop Calamo together.
