Sebastian Modin works as an operator in the tube parts department. The opportunity for development and try new things is something he appreciates at Calamo.
In Calamo’s tube parts department, turned and precision-machined products are manufactured from bars and tubes, which are also electropolished. Additionally, stainless steel tubes are cut to different lengths, special products are manufactured, and orbital welding is performed.
What does a typical day at Calamo look like for you?
“I start by setting up and warming up the machines. Then I ensure that we have materials for the machines throughout the day, check product quality, and measure tolerances, among other things. I also perform orbital welding and receive deliveries of raw materials.”
What is the most important aspect of the work in your department?
“Ensuring that the products we produce maintain the quality we promise to our customers.”
What is the most enjoyable task?
“I find operating the CNC machines to be the most enjoyable task.”
What do you think is the best thing about Calamo?
“The fact that they are willing to invest in the young personnel. We employees can try out different tasks within the company and develop. They make sure we are well taken care of and pay attention to the work environment. It’s also exciting that we are expanding and developing our products.”
